What Should I Expect with Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Dr. Sreter will begin with a thorough dental evaluation.

This will  include a detailed oral exam, full mouth dental x-rays, study models of the teeth and assembling a complete dental history. After evaluating this information, Dr. Sreter will be able to determine which options are applicable in your case and recommend a course of treatment to restore the beauty and full function of your teeth.

Depending on the extent of your tooth damage and the results that you desire, one or more of the following dental treatments may be required to properly correct your dental issues: porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, dental bridges or dental implants. Many patients are amazed at how easy it can be to dramatically improve the appearance and function of their smile. It  often only requires subtle adjustments.

Is Full Mouth Reconstruction Painful?

A full mouth reconstruction can run the gamut of restorative dental procedures, ranging from surgical placement of implants to minimally invasive cosmetic restorations. Some of these procedures may have a greater potential to cause discomfort and some patients may have a lower pain threshold in general.

While it is normal to experience some sensitivity when teeth are being worked on, Dr. Sreter as well as the entire dental restoration team are experts in mitigating discomfort. We use  state-of-the-art technology and techniques to ensure maximum comfort throughout the process.

Am I a Good Candidate for Full Mouth Reconstruction?

For patients whose teeth are aesthetically displeasing, misshapen or badly discolored, the primary purpose of full mouth reconstruction may be cosmetic. It may also be recommended for patients with the following difficulties:

  • Crowns that are no longer functional

  • Wear from grinding or clenching teeth

  • An injury to the  teeth or mouth due to a traumatic accident

  • Misshapen teeth

  • Multiple missing teeth

  • An unbalanced bite

The presence of any of the above conditions is reason enough to make an appointment with Dr. Sreter.

If your teeth have been severely damaged, or if you are suffering from symptoms of TMJ disorder, (such as headaches, jaw pain, or popping sounds in the jaw) you may be a good candidate for a full mouth reconstruction as well.
